Join the 49 Writers Community

Members are non-voting supporters of 49 Writers, Inc. Membership is valid for one year and entitles you to discounted rates on classes, retreats, and selected events. Platinum members receive lifetime membership status. Members also receive invitations to special members-only events. 

Most of all, your dues help fund programs to support Alaska writers and their books. Among the programs we offer:

• Affordable creative writing classes, from one-day workshops to multi-week courses in genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, and publishing. Our instructors include some of Alaska's most respected authors and teachers.
• Literary events featuring both Alaskan and visiting authors
• Our annual Alaska Book Week celebration (www.alaskabookweek.com)
• Our popular annual writers retreat at beautiful Tutka Bay Lodge, near Homer, featuring renowned writing faculty
• Outreach to young writers through WYAK: Write Young Alaska (www.wyakwriters.com)  
• Daily online content and opportunities for literary networking via our collaborative blog, www.49writers.blogspot.com

Memberships are activated only upon payment. To qualify for the Student Membership, you must be a full-time student in an accredited program. If you do not use the credit card payment option above, you may pay either through PayPal (enter 49writers@gmail.com in "To" field) or by check mailed to 49 Writers, Inc., P.O. Box 221086, Anchorage, AK 99522.

49 Writers is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Consult a tax professional for details about the portion of your membership that might be deductible.
